Learn How To Bet

There are a number of ways to wager on simulcast races. Here is a brief rundown on the rules of simulcast betting:

Bet to Win

You select the greyhound that finishes First.
Minimum Win wagers are $2.

Bet to Place

You select the greyhound that finishes First or Second. Minimum Place wagers are $2.

Bet to Show

You select the greyhound that finishes First, Second or Third. Minimum Show wagers are $2.

Bet on a Quinela

You select two greyhounds that finish First and Second in either order. For example, if you select greyhound numbers 8 and 4, they must come in either 8 First and 4 Second or 4 First and 8 Second. Minimum Quinela wagers are $2.

Bet on an Exacta

You select two greyhounds that finish First and Second in the exact order. For example, if you select greyhounds number 8 and 4, the 8 must finish First and the 4 must finish Second. Minimum Exacta Wagers are 50¢.

Bet on a Trifecta

You select three greyhounds that finish First, Second and Third in the exact order. For example, if you select greyhound numbers 1,3, and 5, the 1 must finish First, 3 must finish Second and the 5 must finish Third. Minimum Trifecta wagers are $2.

Bet on a Superfecta

Select four greyhounds that finish First through Fourth in the exact order. For example, greyhound numbers 1, 3, 5 and 7, the 1 must finish First, 3 must finish Second, 5 must finish Third and 7 must finish Fourth. Be sure to check the tote board before discarding your ticket because you may have a winner due to a consolation payoff. Minimum Superfecta wagers are 10¢.

Boxing a Wager

You can “Box” a Quinella, Exacta, Trifecta or Superfecta wager. Boxing means it no longer matters the order of finish for that given bet. For example, if you box a Quinella 2-4-6 that means that two of the three numbers must finish First and Second in any order. If you box a Trifecta 2-4-6 then all three greyhounds must finish First, Second and Third in any order. A $2 Quinella box 2-4-6 is $6. A $1 Trifecta box 2-4-6 is $6. A 50¢ Exacta box 2-4 is $1. A 10¢ Superfecta box 2-4-6-8 is $2.40.
